Carl Froch is best remembered for being one of boxing's toughest operators as he provided plenty of entertainment at the highest level of the sport.
The Nottingham man walked away from boxing after stopping George Groves in 2014, but who was the fastest fighter he faced.
During a long career that was long fought with world titles at stake, Froch shared the ring with many elite operators.
Andre Ward, Jermain Taylor, and Mikkel Kessler were all opponents of Froch, but he says Andre Dirrell, who he beat on points in 2009, was his quickest rival.
“Dirrell was like lightning. He was fast, athletic, good on his feet and he could bang,” said Froch when speaking to The Ring in 2014.
“Dirrell perhaps lacked the mindset for the game, and without that you’re just a fancy sports car, running on empty. Hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.”
