Carl Froch names the football legend who he thinks could win a world title before Jake Paul

Carl Froch has continued his verbal onslaught against Jake Paul by insisting that Wayne Rooney has a better chance of becoming world champion.  

Froch and Paul have traded insults for a number of months now with the former super-middleweight star insistent that he could return to the ring after ten years and defeat the popular YouTuber. 

Paul is in action this weekend when he faces Ryan Bourland and he’s very much focused on reaching the top of the sport.  

Another name linked to a potential fight with Paul is Rooney, and Froch has given his backing to the former Manchester United and England striker. 

“He thinks he’s going to become world champion. 38-year-old Wayne Rooney has got a better chance of becoming a boxing world champion than him,” said Froch when speaking to Fruity Slots. 

“He’s living in cloud cuckoo land.”
