Callum Simpson has accused Ben Whittaker of ducking the chance to fight him.
Simpson beat Zak Chelli at the weekend to become the British and Commonwealth super middleweight champion, and said he hopes to defend the British belt enough to secure the Lonsdale strap.
One potentially lucrative all-British fight would be against Whittaker, whose showboating skills have earned him a large following as he impresses at light heavyweight.
Speaking to Sky Sports, he claimed Whittaker does not want to engage.
He said: "Again, Ben Whittaker. I am not going to waste my time calling his name because that isn't going to happen. They don't want it.
"It is a big risk for them.
"Everybody wants to be a diamond but nobody wants the pressure. I want the pressure.
"Whittaker does not want it."
