Chris Algieri's trainer believes that Eddie Hearn is worried ahead of Conor Benn fight

Chris Algieri's trainer believes that Eddie Hearn is worried ahead of Conor Benn fightDAZN
Conor Benn faces the latest test of his career against Chris Algieri this weekend.

Eddie Hearn is concerned about Conor Benn’s upcoming clash with Chris Algieri. That’s the brutally honest verdict from Derik Santos, the man who will be in the New Yorker’s corner in Liverpool this weekend.

Benn starts favourite against the former world champion heading into the clash, but Santos insists that the man pushing Benn’s career is worried about Saturday’s clash.

Algieri, who rose to prominence when defeating Ruslan Provodnikov back in 2014 at super-lightweight, has had mixed results at welterweight.

Losing efforts against Manny Pacquiao, Amir Khan and Errol Spence have ensured that Algieri is likely short of the highest level, but Santos says his man still has enough to make Benn’s team think twice about this fight

“[Benn’s] a fighter, he's training hard, his team is training hard,” said Santos when speaking with MyBettingSites.

“I respect them, they came looking for us because obviously they're trying to find out at this point where Conor Benn is.

"If you had to ask Eddie Hearn was he confident in Conor, or is he worried about this fight, he would tell you he's worried, but of course, he’s got to cheer for his man.”
