Chris Algieri's trainer Derek Santos believes British star Conor Benn will never become a world champion.
Benn ended 15 months of inactivity last September with a win over Rodolfo Orozco and this was followed up by a unanimous decision victory against Peter Dobson in February.
Now Benn is eager to chase some big names at welterweight whilst also being linked with a clash against boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
However, Santos has claimed that despite Benn's high aspirations, he will not become a world champion.
“He is a fringe world level fighter, I don't think Benn will become world champion," Santos told Crypto Casinos.
"He will put butts on seats from the business point of view, but I don't see him beating any of the champions at 140 or 147.”
Benn fought Algieri back in December 2021 in a fight which saw the British star win with a fourth-round knockout.
