Chris Eubank Jr. celebrates win over Liam Williams: Don't be a big mouthDAZN
The WBA No. 1 was far from conciliatory in victory.

Chris Eubank Jr. was in no mood to bury the hatchet with Liam Williams after the pair fought on Saturday night.

The 32-year-old Englishman beat Williams, 29, in a hometown fight in Cardiff. Williams was sent to the canvas four times in a comfortable win for Eubank where he was able to coast to victory in relative ease after the opening exchanges.

The pair have been at odds over the past decade and Eubank took the opportunity to dance and goad his opponent in the closing stages of the fight ahead of a clear points win.

However, after months of insults, including a threat to ‘kill’ Eubank from Williams that earned the Welshman an expected censure from the British Boxing Board of Control, the victor was not interested in better relations.

“I am happy with the performance, I wanted to teach that man a lesson, he said some quite menacing things to me in the lead-up to this fight," Eubank said after the fight.

"I wanted to punish him - I didn't want to knock him out in one round, I wanted to punish him.

"Headbutts, headlocks… I am surprised he didn't get disqualified. But I took it like a man and I punished him like I said I would. It was a fun night. I think I showed some of my critics a different side to me.

“There was no danger, if I had stepped on the gas at any point in the fight he would have been gone. There are levels to this game. Don't be a big mouth against guys you can get hurt against."
