Liam Smith will not be shocked if a potential clash between Conor Benn and Chris Eubank Jr ends via stoppage.
Last week, it was announced that the pair are set to fight in the first half of 2025 as they finally look to settle their long-standing rivalry.
In 2022, both fighters were set to square off but on the week of their scheduled bout, it was revealed that there had been an issue with Benn’s drug test.
That led to the fight being postponed and although it has taken over two years to rearrange it, the pair have engaged in several verbal exchanges.

Moving on with his own career, Eubank Jr participated in a memorable two-fight series with Smith where he avenged a stoppage loss by halting the Liverpool man in the rematch .
Perhaps qualified as well as anyone to discuss the fights of Eubank Jr, Smith has had his say on his likely next fight.
“I told you all before, I never say never. Do you think Conor can’t knock Chris out? With them little gloves on, anyone can be knocked out. If Chris is not looking, anyone can be flattened. If he does it, I won’t be like, ‘woah, Conor just knocked Chris out,’ said the former world champion when speaking to Seconds Out .
“And vice versa, Conor’s been down off journeymen. If Chris flattened Conor I won’t be like, ‘God, Eubank stopped Benn.’ They’ve both got frailties, both got vulnerabilities and both got strengths. I think it’ll be a good fight.”
