Chris Eubank Jr. believes that a fight with Ben Whittaker is a “sexy” proposition.
Eubank is yet to make a return to the ring after defeating Liam Smith last year, and he had been mentioned as a potential opponent for Canelo Alvarez this summer.
However, Canelo will now fight Edgar Berlanga on September 14, live on DAZN.
That has led the experienced Briton to examine other options, and speaking to Sky Sports, he reacted positively when it was suggested he link up with the entertaining British light heavyweight prospect.
He said: I haven't heard that, I didn't know that was a conversation.
“Two entertaining, brash, fighters who love to put it on the line and show off in that ring.
“That's a sexy fight, but what weight class is that?"
Eubank acknowledged that Whittaker has built a big following with his in-ring exploits and social media following, and suggested it would be a popular all-British fight.
He continued: “I genuinely have never thought about that. I've watched him,it's pretty insane how popular he is on social media. He's getting a lot of attention. His style is getting him a lot of attention on social media, which is great. But I've had the fights.
“I mean that's really what England needs, it's very rare to have that in the UK, there's not many fighters that get that type of attention on social media.”
