A knockout against Chris Eubank Jr. will not be enough, claims Conor BennMark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing

For Conor Benn, a knockout against Chris Eubank Jr. will not be enough when they finally meet in their grudge match in London this April.

As announced by His Excellency Turki Alalshikh on Wednesday morning, the two rivals have signed a deal to fight, with a location and date to be announced in due course.

There is no love lost between Benn and Eubank Jr., not just because of the rivalry between the two families, but also with the words exchanged for their original bout in 2022.

The first contest was pulled after Benn returned an adverse test result, but the two continued to spar verbally and squared up before Artur Beterbiev against Dmitry Bivol last October.

Now the time has come for the two to finally lace up the gloves and settle their differences in the ring, and for Benn, he wants to inflict painful damage on his rival.

"He’s an idiot, he’s arrogant, thinks his s—t don’t stink," Benn told DAZN.  "I can’t wait to punch him in the head.

"That’s the reality. I don’t just want to knock him out and render him unconscious because it’s legacy, it’s personal.

"To rub salt in my wounds while I’m down, and kick me while I’m down, you best pray to God I don’t get back up, and that’s how I feel. He’s going to feel every ounce of pain."
