Conor McGregor on Anthony Joshua's chances against Oleksandr Usyk: 'It's a tough ask'Matchroom Boxing

Conor McGregor believes Anthony Joshua faces a tough proposition in a potential rematch with Oleksandr Usyk.

Talks between the heavyweight pair to schedule their rematch are still ongoing as they look to finalise a deal to sqaure off for a second time this summer. Usyk has been linked to a fight with Anthony Joshua, but the former world champion is making the most of his rematch clause.

The fighters first met in September last year when the Ukranian was far too good for Joshua as he dominated for lengthy periods to relieve the 2012 Olympic gold medallist of his world titles.

Usyk will begin the long-awaited sequel as a decent favourite and the UFC superstar believes that Joshua has it all to do.

"It didn't go so well the last time, it’s a tough ask, said McGregor when speaking to Sky Sports.

"AJ is a good guy and I wish him well. Usyk is a great guy as well and I hope for a good bout for both men. The heavyweight division is on fire at the minute. Good things are happening."
