Conor McGregor is perhaps the most qualified cage fighter to discuss stepping into the ring against an elite performer.
Following the announcement that Francis Ngannou will swap MMA for boxing later this year when he faces current WBC heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury, in October, McGregor has had his say on the bout.
In 2017, McGregor took part in one of boxing’s most lucrative bouts when he challenged Floyd Mayweather.
Despite a spirited start, the Irishman was broken in the second half of the contest before he was halted in the tenth round. Despite being dealt a rude awakening by Mayweather, McGregor refuses to rule out a Ngannou win.
“I’m interested, let’s see how it goes. I’ve not heard much about it but I’m happy for Ngannou, fair play to him,” said McGregor when speaking to Adam Glyn from Adam’s Apple
“What weight is Tyson? Is he in shape? Anything can happen in there, so I wish them both well and I’m excited to see it.”
