Sergio Mora believes Conor Benn can defeat Chris Eubank Jr. when the pair fight next month.

The duo will fight at a 157lb catchweight on October 8 in a fight shown in most countries live on DAZN (check for regions).

Discussing the upcoming match-up, Akin ‘Ak’ Reyes and Mora discussed the potential implications of two fighters meeting in the middle of welterweight and middleweight.

“It’s the name and the rivalry, and the blood there,” said Mora. “I think the fact that Nigel Benn came up short against Eubank, so I think Conor Benn’s going to want redemption and revenge.

"The rivalry is there. It’s great camera, the things they talk about, both these guys can punch. I think Eubank coming down, he’s going to bring power, but he’s going to be dehydrated.

“I think it’s going to be like when Kell Brook fought [Gennadiy Golovkin]. He fought a great fight but he was just too small so we’re going to find out.

"I really like Conor Benn. I like the mentality. He has a ferocity but he’s more smart with it, technique with it. Eubank is the bigger fighter. It's going to be explosive but I’m going to pick Benn.”

Ak meanwhile saw problems for Benn in coming up from 147lbs, explaining: “I think that what makes this interesting, Conor’s a welterweight, he‘s moving up practically two weights - a risk factor.

"Imagine him going up and doing what he says he’s going to do, knock Eubank out. The win would be that much bigger.

“If he can make weight, it makes him a bigger fighter at welterweight.”
