Katie Taylor is desperate to fight at Dublin’s Croke Park before her career ends.
The Irish superstar, perhaps boxing’s greatest ever female fighter, has yet to fight in Ireland as a professional with the majority of her successes coming in the U.K. and America.
Earlier this year, Taylor ventured to New York City to defeat her great rival, Amada Serrano in an epic contest.
Now preparing to face Karen Carbajal this Saturday night, live on DAZN (excluding Australia and New Zealand), Taylor admits that a return to Ireland to fight in front of her adoring public is high on her priority list.
With a rematch against Serrano still one of the biggest fights to make, the setting of Croke Park would be the ideal venue to stage such a fight.
“The only thing that can actually top what happened at Madison Square Garden would be a big homecoming fight at Croke Park, 80,000 people,” said Taylor when speaking to the PA News Agency
“[Croke Park] would be the stuff of dreams, really. I’ve been a professional boxer for six years and I haven’t actually fought at home, so I can’t wait to make that homecoming fight. I hope that can happen.”
