It's world title or bust when it comes to Dalton Smith's next fight.
The Sheffield fighter preserved his unbeaten record on Saturday night with a first round knockout over Walid Ouizza which saw 'Thunder' capture the vacant European super lightweight title.
Smith has been knocking on the door for a world title shot for quite some time and when speaking to The Stomping Ground following his win, he made it clear that a world title fight has to be next.
"I’m sat number two with the WBC, I’m hoping to get the winner of the [Alberto] Puello-Sandor Martin fight," Smith said.
"I needed a big performance to get that opportunity, and I think that’s what I did.
"I’ll just stay in the gym and wait out for the winner and get that opportunity."
Alberto Puello and Sandor Martin are set to meet for the WBC super lightweight title on March 1 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
