Daniel Dubois is moving up the pecking order to challenge heavyweight world champion Anthony Joshua, believes the 22-year-old challenger's promoter, Frank Warren.

Promoter Frank Warren believes Daniel Dubois has moved up in the pecking order to set up a fight with Anthony Joshua for his WBO belt.

Warren made the claim after the 22-year-old heavyweight maintained his undefeated record with a convincing win over Ricardo Snijders in the second round of their fight on Saturday.

While Oleksandr Usyk is the WBO mandatory challenger, Dubois holds the WBO international title and is gaining an impressive reputation.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Warren said: "When you have a talent like Daniel, the individual route to a world title becomes less important.

"Before long, he'll be at the top of all the sanctioning bodies' rankings and everyone will be running scared from him. If it's AJ's WBO title, so be it.

"They've sparred before and Daniel held his own. I've said before, I'd make that fight tomorrow."

Joshua is anticipated to fight his IBF mandatory opponent Kubrat Pulev this December, and Usyk may stake a claim for a fight in 2021.

Meanwhile, Joshua’s focus is on arranging a fight with Tyson Fury for a prospective unification clash.

"There's a potential date coming up, I'm looking to be out in December," Joshua said to Sky Sports.

"I like to compete against the best.

"Pulev is a world title challenger as well. I've beaten five champions now, and Pulev is another tough challenge, which leads me on to another challenge, which is a champion.

"God willing I get my hands on that Tyson Fury, [his] WBC belt, so I'm just loving it, I can't wait. This is what I live for, this is my passion. I feel like this is my calling."
