Darren Till says rounds five and six will be very bad for Tommy Fury when the fighters meet in the boxing ring early next year.
Till and Fury will headline MF & DAZN: X Series 20 in February, live on DAZN, in an eight-round heavyweight contest. The bout will be Fury's first since defeating KSI by unanimous decision in Oct. 2023, while former UFC fighter Till is set to make his professional boxing debut at the Manchester event, but despite being the less experienced boxer of the two, Till feels confident in his ability to "break" Fury in the later stage of the upcoming fight.
"I think technically I’m better than him. I do," Till told Norske Bettingsider. "I genuinely think people are going to be shocked. I don’t want to give too much away. But I think I’m genuinely going to shock a lot of people. I think I’m gonna break Tommy down in the later rounds—rounds five and six.
"For two years I've been learning a lot off world class fighters; Liam Smith, Josh Taylor, Callum Smith, JJ Metcalf, Dennis McCann, Frankie Stringer, Caoimhín Agyarko, Garry Cully, Piece O'Leary. For two years I've been training with Dec and Joe. I’ve loved every second of it."
As for how Till is going to approach the fight, the 31-year-old is keeping it simple.
"I just want to go out there and bring pure violence," he said. "If they love it, they love it. If they don’t. There are so many naysayers, just f—k off."
