The former world champion has two current belt holders in his sights.

Former super middleweight world champion David Benavidez is ready to face Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez, and believes that the Mexican may first knock out another of his potential opponents, Jermall Charlo.

The undisputed 168lb champion is yet to announce his next move.

Charlo has been mooted as a potential rival should he move up from middleweight, but Benavidez would also be keen to take his chance.

“I feel like we’re in a good position, too,” Benavidez said to FightHype.com.

“Hopefully I get my opportunity after.”

Making a prediction should Charlo fight Canelo, the 25-year-old American believes it would be a relatively tough contest for both fighters, but leaned towards Canelo as the winner.

“I think the fight with Charlo is going to be the toughest fight for Canelo that he’s had in a while,” Benavidez explained. “I also wouldn’t be surprised if Canelo knocks Charlo out.

“I’m still in a good position. I want a fight with both of those guys. If Canelo wins I get a fight with Canelo. If Charlo wins, I get a fight with Charlo, so those are two fights that I want anyway."
