David Haye has revealed that he would beat all of today’s heavyweights if he were fighting in his prime.
The former two-weight world champion was recognised as one of boxing’s most exciting champions when winning world titles at cruiserweight and heavyweight in the late 2000s.
Famous wins over the likes of Jean-Marc Mormeck, Enzo Maccarinelli, and Nikolai Valuev earned Haye widespread acclaim. Unfortunately, his later career was blighted by injuries before his top-level run was ended courtesy of two defeats against Tony Bellew.
Nevertheless, Haye was a legitimate threat at his best, and he believes his qualities would've been too much for the fighters currently on top.
“In my prime, I would’ve taken all of them,” said Haye when speaking on Joe’s From The Corner.
Despite his confidence, Haye is quick to admit that he would’ve faced problems against all of today’s leading names.
“[Tyson] Fury is super elusive for a big man. [Oleksandr] Usyk, a southpaw, he would've been hard to get to. ‘AJ, he’s super powerful, and if he lets his hands go in a combination, you’re in big trouble. [Deontay] Wilder, if he hits you anywhere, then you’re in trouble. They’ve all got very good attributes.”
