Wilder looked a shell of his old self against a motivated and razor-sharp Parker.

Joseph Parker scored what is regarded as a huge upset in the co-main event of Day Of Reckoning when he defeated Deontay Wilder, potentially putting a hoped 2024 battle between Wilder and Anthony Joshua at risk.

Parker executed the perfect gameplan to neutralise Wilder's punch power and leave the American struggling to find a way through, en route to a comfortable unanimous decision win with scorecards of 118-111, 118-110 and 120-108.

There had been reports of Wilder and Anthony Joshua, who defeated Otto Wallin in the main event, finally doing battle next year if they both emerged victorious in Riyadh.

However Wilder's loss not only throws a spanner in the works there, but casts a huge shadow over the assertion made by some that Wilder and Tyson Fury were a level above Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk in the heavyweight pecking order.

Joshua comfortably beat Parker several years ago, and knocked out Wladimir Klitschko - the biggest name on Fury's resume other than Wilder.

You can watch Day of Reckoning, featuring Anthony Joshua vs. Otto Wallin, Wilder vs. Parker and Daniel Dubois vs. Jarrell Miller, on DAZN PPV  on Saturday, December 23. Click here  for more details.
