Former WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder is contemplating a return to boxing.

The American hasn't fought since being knocked out in the eleventh round by Tyson Fury last October which brought an end to what was an epic trilogy.

But while fans believed Wilder's silence since the loss was a sign that he had retired, the former champion told Premier Boxing Champions he has not hung up the gloves for good and is trying to figure out the best way to make a comeback.

"I'm definitely considering coming back," Wilder said.

"This is something that we're trying to figure out and get things situated. I feel [it could be] a re-boost for my career."

For some fighters, money plays a huge role when it comes to ending a long period of inactivity, but after the Fury trilogy which earned Wilder millions, the 36-year-old insists money will play no role in deciding whether to fight again.

"It's not about the financial things, I never have to return to boxing ever again in my life. I've set my life up."
