The news gets worse for Deontay Wilder following his loss to Tyson Fury after his trainer Malik Scott revealed the full extent of his injuries.

The American was rushed straight to hospital after being knocked out in the 11th round at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"I took him up into his room, he's seen a doctor afterwards. Everything's cool... he busted his lip, he broke his hand, broke his finger, knuckle, something like that. But life goes on," Scott told The Express

Scott also expressed his desire for Wilder to take a long break from boxing after a fight which saw the former world champion hit the canvas twice before being knocked out by Fury in the contest's penultimate round.

"I really don't want Deontay talking about boxing or doing anything with boxing for quite some time. I want him to get some good rest, especially after this."

"Even after the last fight he was so worked up. So worked up over the time, and in training and was so excited and so happy to win the arbitration. He really never got to rest, he deserved a good rest. I'm gonna make sure he gets it."
