Deontay Wilder talks following Tyson Fury's footsteps to WWEDAZN
It worked well for the "Gypsy King" — why not the "Bronze Bomber?"

Deontay Wilder saw Tyson Fury participate in the WWE recently. So, would the WBC world heavyweight champion ever follow in Fury’s path?

Well, “The Bronze Bomber” wouldn’t be opposed to bringing his knockout power to WWE.

“If that opportunity came about, I could see myself jumping off a ladder, doing a flying elbow, saying ‘Bomb Squad!’ on top,” Wilder told Shawn Porter on the set of “Inside PBC Boxing.” “I got the character to be able to perform in that environment. It’d be something fun. I wouldn’t turn it down if it came (about).”

Before that opportunity could possibly come to fruition, Wilder will defend his WBC strap in a rematch against Luis Oritz at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas on Saturday night.

He enters the bout carrying the highest career knockout rate amongst heavyweights at 95 percent, with a 41-0-1 record (40 KOs) — a clip that has Wilder in awe of himself.

“For me, it’s still a surprise,” Wilder said. “When I knock guys out, I’m still like, ‘Wooow.’ I know I have the power to do it. I know when I hit guys, that it hurts — I could just tap you. I know it hurt, especially when you have 10-ounce gloves on. You can feel it. I can feel the structure of their face, of the bones in my fists.”
