Jake Paul has received a positive appraisal from the man responsible for bringing Deontay Wilder back into the heavyweight picture.

Malik Scott, a former contender, is tasked with training Wilder against Robert Helenius next month as the heavy-handed Alabamian aims to bounce back from two consecutive losses to Tyson Fury and recapture the heavyweight crown.

Despite being focused on restoring Wilder’s reputation, Scott has also noticed the impact that Paul has made on boxing.

After numerous cancellations against Tommy Fury, Paul returns to the ring in October to face former UFC superstar, Anderson Silva. Scott is impressed with what he’s seen from the popular YouTuber.

“I believe Jake Paul has also become a good fighter,” said Scott when speaking to Fair Betting Sites.

“Is he a world beater? Absolutely not. But is he an influencer fighter? Not to me no more. I'm not going to keep saying it because he's actually looking better than some boxers.

“I think Jake Paul is good for modern day boxing, I think he wouldn't even be allowed in boxing if boxing was how it was in the old days. I think Paul is very good for it because of the revenue that he brings, the light that he brings to the market, the branding that he brings to it.”
