Derek Chisora has called on Jake Paul to honour his handshake with Tommy Fury and double the Brit’s purse following their fight last weekend.
At the pre-fight press conference, Paul and Fury’s constant bickering was brought to a standstill when the popular YouTuber offered his opponent a double or nothing bet, which Fury accepted hesitantly.
Over the coming days, it was revealed the wager was no longer standing with Paul claiming the matter had not been placed in writing.
With Fury emerging victorious via split decision following a messy encounter, Chisora, a former world heavyweight title challenger, has stated that the handshake should be enough between the pair.
“When we were on stage in Saudi for this fight, Tommy and Jake shook on the bet and they shook hands,” said Chisora on his Instagram story.
“A bet is a bet, they shook hands on it, you don’t need the contract and you don’t need anything. Man to man if you shake hands, you pay the man you shook hands with, so I think Jake Paul should wire money to Tommy, that’s fair.”
