'They're on a downer!' - Derek Chisora wants wait for Tyson Fury-Anthony Joshua super-boutDAZN

Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua's proposed heavyweight fight should take place in the latter half of the year, with Derek Chisora suggesting neither man is ready for a clash yet.

A super-bout between the two Britons, long considered among the division's dominant forces, has been on and off the table for years, but finally appears close to completion now.

After losses to Oleksandr Usyk and Daniel Dubois, His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, along with promoters Matchroom and Queensberry, have indicated a desire to make the fight.

But Chisora, who met Fury in a famed trilogy of encounters, does not feel any bout should be rushed, with both men needing time to rediscover themselves after major defeats.

"I believe that fight, I want to see it at the end of the year," he told The Stomping Ground. "Because I don't believe both guys are ready for that fight yet.

"I just believe they've got to find themselves first. Tyson lost a big fight, AJ lost a big fight. Right now, they're on a downer.

"They have to rest their bodies, rest their minds, and then when they're ready to go back into training, they train for this fight. I want to see it end of the summer. "

Chisora, a former challenger for the WBC heavyweight title on two occasions, is gearing up for what has been touted as his final bout in the United Kingdom next month.

Del Boy is set to face Otto Wallin at Manchester's Co-op Live on February 8, his 49th professional bout, as he looks to follow last July's impressive victory over Joe Joyce.
