At Thursday's weigh-ins, Devin Haney and Zaur Abdullaev saw each other one final time before their interim WBC lightweight title fight on Friday night at the Hulu Theater at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
Haney and Abdullaev had no issues hitting the mark as they both came in at 134.6 pounds.
After both fighters weighed, they engaged in an intense staredown. Haney was staring a hole through Abdullaev, while the latter smiled during the entire exchange. Haney and Abdullaev were pulled away by their respective camps.
Haney (22-0, 14 KOs) looks for the first major world title of his career. The 20-year-old is coming off a knockout of the year candidate, pulverizing Antonio Moran in the seventh round in May in his first main event.
Abdullaev (11-0, 7 KOs) fights in the United States for the first time; all of his bouts have occurred in his native Russia.
Friday night's card can be seen on DAZN . The winner of the Haney-Abdullaev fight puts himself in position to face WBC lightweight champion Vasiliy Lomachenko sometime in 2020.
