WBC super lightweight champion Devin Haney is considered to be one of the planet's best fighters.
After becoming the undisputed champion at lightweight with wins over George Kambosos Jr and the legendary Vasiliy Lomachenko, Haney is eager to replicate similar feats at 140lbs.
Haney claimed the WBC super lightweight title back in December when he beat Regis Prograis, and now his first defence does not come much bigger than Ryan Garcia with the pair having previous history as amateurs.
The rivalry between the two has become intense over these past few weeks and Haney was quick to label Garcia an 'average fighter' during a media workout on Wednesday.
"Ryan may have the speed, but I have the timing. I just want to show how I am levels above this guy," Haney said.
"Ryan is an average fighter with a big name. I am a proven fighter, proven champion, I was tested by some of the best fighters in the world, and I am here for a reason. It's me vs. greatness."
Haney and Garcia are set to meet on April 20 live on DAZN PPV in what will be their first meeting in the professional ranks after the pair got three wins apiece in their six fights as amateurs.
