The two lightweight champions could face one another to decide the title of undisputed.

Devin Haney could be a better champion than Teofimo Lopez for the next decade, suggested Sergio Mora.

The former world champion fighter pointed towards Haney’s approach to learning in the aftermath of his win over Jorge Linares at the weekend and believing he has a style that sets him up for longevity.

Speaking on JABS as part of the DAZN Boxing Show, the DAZN analyst predicted: “For the next decade, I’m going to go with Devin Haney. Not only from what I’ve seen up close but his style is made for the distance.

“He’s not the aggressive counterpuncher who goes for the knockout, like Teofimo Lopez. I’m going to go with the guy with the better jab and stylistically still wants to learn. After the fight, he was asking Linares, ‘How can I be better, how can I be faster, how can I be stronger?’ Any fighter that talented, he’s still trying to absorb like a sponge. That’s the kind who continues to grow like that and be a dominant champion.”

The IBF, WBA (super), and WBO lightweight champion has a chance to prove Mora wrong as he puts his three belts on the line against mandatory challenger George Kambosos Jr. on Saturday, June 19 at LoanDepot Park in Miami.
