Devin Haney says Ryan Garcia is 'scared to say my name' and 'knows he can't beat me'

Devin Haney says Ryan Garcia is 'scared to say my name' and 'knows he can't beat me'DAZN
"The Dream" wants all the smoke with "Kingry."

Devin Haney is tired of hearing Ryan Garcia repeatedly call out Gervonta Davis.

The way "The Dream" sees it, a fight between he and Garcia would be much easier to make than a bout with Garcia and "Tank." Haney feels that way because he and Garcia both fight on DAZN. That would help explain why Haney views Garcia calling out Davis as a possible admission that Garcia is "scared" to fight him, instead.

"I don't understand that," Haney told DAZN News' Andreas Hale on Friday before Garcia's fight against Francisco Fonseca. "He keeps talking about 'Tank,' 'Tank,' 'Tank,' 'Tank.' Right now, 'Tank' is going through his own issues. That's his problem, whatever, but that fight is hard to make."

"Me and (Garcia), we're on the same network (DAZN), Golden Boy, Matchroom work together all the time," he continued. "Why not make this fight happen? It sounds like he's scared. He's scared to say my name. Deep down in his heart, he knows he can't beat me. He doesn't want to make the fight happen and that's it."

Davis was charged with simple battery domestic violence earlier this month after cell-phone footage showed him putting his hands on a woman at a charity basketball game during Super Bowl weekend in Miami.

During the buildup to Garcia vs. Fonseca, "Kingry's" Golden Boy Promotions promoter, Oscar De La Hoya, called for Floyd Mayweather Jr. to help make the fight between Davis and Garcia happen if Garcia were to be successful against Fonseca on Valentine's Day.

Davis caught wind of De La Hoya's message and tweeted that he's game.

As Haney said, Garcia wasn't mentioning his name.

"I just want him to make the fight happen with me," Haney added. "Ryan Garcia may say he's the biggest star, but out of us three (including himself and Davis), he makes the least money."

All three are undefeated. The 21-year-old Haney is still recovering from shoulder surgery he underwent last December.
