Promoter Eddie Hearn has made a bold prediction ahead of the boxing fight between Terence Crawford and WBA junior middleweight champion Israil Madrimov, which takes place on Saturday, August 3, and airs live on DAZN.
Hearn thinks this particular event will be the turning point in Madrimov's career and could launch him into the spotlight. "He’s ready to knock out Terence Crawford in Los Angeles. This is the fight that turns Israil Madrimov into a superstar,” Hearn said on Twitter this week.
Madrimov is the underdog heading into the fight so a knockout win could set him up for exactly what Hearn says. Many have already wondered what would happen and who Madrimov could fight if he were to win but that's the last thing from his mind.
“I’m concentrating on this fight against Terence Crawford. I don’t think about anything else. I’m there to win the fight, and after the fight, we can talk about everything else,” Madrimov said (h/t Boxing 247).
