The two promoters have to come up with a new forfeit.

Eddie Hearn has given more details of his bet with ‘plonker’ Jake Paul.

Hearn and Paul had initially wagered $1 million, each taking the side of their own fighter in last week’s Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano showdown at Madison Square Garden in New York.

The promoters were then informed it would be illegal to bet on their own event, and so arranged another forfeit, with only a few details given so far.

After Taylor’s split decision win, it is Paul who faces the loss, and speaking to IFL TV, Hearn suggested an area the bet could be focused on.

“We’re talking,” he began. “I want to get some kind of women’s, girls’ foundation going.  To try and grow the sport. The viewership for the fight on Saturday was huge.

“It’ll be announced in due course. We’ve got to work off the back of that. So he’ll keep his million, but we want to do something.”

Paul exchanged words on Twitter with Taylor in the build-up to the fight, and he and Hearn teased one another throughout, but the Matchroom head again made it clear he thought positively of the MVP founder.

“I’ve always liked him. I've always thought he was very smart,” he stated.

“He proved he was a great person to work with, and at the same time I’ve always known that he was a bit of a plonker.

“Same for me, I’m a bit of a plonker. I think I really enjoyed working with him and he is really good for the sport in many different ways.”
