Eddie Hearn believes that Andy Ruiz Jr. would defeat Deontay Wilder if they were to meet.
Wilder fought at the weekend after a year away from the sport. Before beating Scandinavian fighter Robert Helenius, his most recent bout had been the last of a trilogy with Tyson Fury.
The Bronze Bomber had considered retiring after failing to win back the WBC heavyweight belt, but after beating Helenius he is now expected to continue fighting.
The 36-year-old has been linked with a clash with Ruiz, who became heavyweight champion in 2019 after beating Anthony Joshua before losing the same year in their rematch.
Speaking to Fight Hub TV, Hearn wanted the fight to happen and made a prediction.
“Ruiz/Wilder is a brilliant fight,” he said. “I see him beating Deontay Wilder.”
Ruiz also got his career back on track, most recently beating experienced Cuban heavyweight Luis Ortiz earlier in 2022.
“I really like Andy Ruiz,” added Hearn. “I thought he looked better against Ortiz, good victory. Wilder was good the other night. Helenius might be past his best but still, Wilder is very dangerous. He’s brilliant for the sport. And Andy Ruiz is a warrior. I just think Wilder vs. Andy Ruiz is a brilliant fight.”
