Eddie Hearn has no interest in seeing Anthony Joshua face Joe Joyce and believes the latter should avoid the fight at all costs.
Joyce suffered a second consecutive loss to Zhilei Zhang recently and the result has prompted many within the boxing trade to urge Joyce to consider walking away from the sport.
Despite the requests to retire, it remains unclear what Joyce will do next, but if he were to fight on, would he still aim for the biggest names or would he spend time rebuilding?
Anthony Joshua is always the target for the world’s chasing heavyweights but Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, thinks it’s the wrong option for Joyce
“AJ punches as hard as Zhang with much more speed. That fight is a car crash,” said Hearn when speaking to IFLTV
“Zhang is quite ponderous and slow, and AJ punches as hard and with speed. Joe doesn’t need that fight, let him enjoy his life.”
