Eddie Hearn is hoping to meet Shakur Stevenson this weekend at the Jaron Ennis vs. David Avanesyan event as the Newark fighter plots his next move after becoming a free agent following his last fight.
Stevenson retained his world lightweight title earlier this month when outpointing Artem Harutyunyan in a fight that is reported to be his last under the Top Rank banner.
Stevenson’s status as one of boxing’s best fighters has ensured he’s attracted the attention of all of boxing’s biggest promoters.
Hearn has always been a huge admirer of the 2016 Olympic silver medalist, and he’s recently spoke about what his plans would be if he was to guide Stevenson’s career.
“William Zepeda, maybe a move to 140 to fight a Liam Paro or another champion at 140, and then look to other companies to do a co-promotional deal and a co-platform deal,” said Hearn when speaking to Fight Hub TV.
“It really will come down to if Tank and PBC, if they want the Shakur Stevenson fight because that is a very, very, very risky fight for Tank, and he has to come through Lomachenko first.”
