Eddie Hearn has urged Joe Joyce to consider his position in boxing following his brutal knockout loss to Zhilei Zhang this past weekend.
The 2016 Olympic silver medallist endured his second loss against the Chinese star and his most recent setback has prompted many within the sport to show concern regarding Joyce’s future.
Joyce’s run in the dangerous heavyweight division has saw him climb almost to the top of the pile with a number of notable wins over quality contenders including Jospeh Parker and Daniel Dubois.
After securing WBO interim status, Joyce was in an ideal position to challenge Oleksandr Usyk for the full title, but those plans are now damaged after the series with Zhang.
“Honestly, he shouldn't be boxing,” said Hearn when speaking to IFLTV
“He's had a great career, he should've been Olympic champion, he won the interim world heavyweight title and I'm sure he's made a lot of money as well.”
