Eddie Hearn provides big update on whether Anthony Joshua will appoint a new trainer

Eddie Hearn provides big update on whether Anthony Joshua will appoint a new trainerMark Robinson/Matchroom Boxing
Joshua needs to rebuild.

Eddie Hearn is expecting Anthony Joshua to retain the services of Ben Davison ahead of whatever fight he chooses to pursue next.

The trainer received widespread criticism after Joshua's last performance with some in the boxing trade questioning his approach in the corner when Joshua required vital advice.

Joshua has been working with Davison since the backend of 2023 following brief spells with Robert Garcia and Derrick James.

The combination worked well for their first two fights together when Joshua stopped Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou.

Last month, it had been expected by many respected boxing voices that their successful run would continue when Joshua faced Daniel Dubois at Wembley Stadium.

The Watford man began the fight a significant favourite, but he quickly realised he was in a tough fight.

Joshua was dropped in the opening round before hitting the floor in rounds three, four, and five with the final knockdown handing Dubois victory.

Joshua is expecting to return to the ring in 2025 with Dubois and Tyson Fury mentioned as possible opponents, and Hearn, Joshua’s promoter, is believes Davison will be the man in the corner.

“He’s happy with his training camp,” said Hearn when reflecting on the bout with Fight Hub TV

“He was in great condition. He was sparring really well. In my opinion, there won’t be any changes.
