Eddie Hearn has revealed that Anthony Joshua had Oleksandr Usyk as a ‘clear winner’ following his undisputed showdown Tyson Fury this past weekend.
Usyk took over the bout with a huge ninth round when he forced Fury to take a count and he finished the contest in an impressive manner.
Despite looking to pull away following the round where he had so much success, Usyk still faced a nervous wait before he was announced as a split decision winner.
Hearn, who was ringside with Joshua in Saudi Arabia has now confirmed what the rival of both men said in the aftermath.
“I went over to him after the fight, and I said what do you think and he said, ‘are you joking?’” said Hearn when speaking to Boxnation.
“And he said Usyk was the clear winner, but a lot of people had it like that.”
