Edgar Berlanga has expressed an interest in fighting Anthony Joshua.
Both men are coming off high-profile defeats over the past two weeks, with Berlanga taking the first loss of his career on Sept. 14 against unified world super middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez and Joshua losing by fifth-round knockout to IBF world heavyweight champion Daniel Dubois a week later.
With each fighter left to consider their next move, Berlanga took to social media on Wednesday and declared his intrigue in taking on the two-time former unified world heavyweight champion — even offering to meet Joshua in his preferred weight class.
"I would love to go up to heavyweight and fight Anthony Joshua just to test greatness," Berlanga wrote on X (formerly Twitter). "Nothing bad towards this. I’ll walk in the ring 210lbs."
It remains to be seen how serious his proposition is, but Berlanga has managed to keep boxing fans talking.
