Errol Spence offers career update after Sebastian Fundora fight falls apart

Errol Spence offers career update after Sebastian Fundora fight falls apartDAZN

It looks like the boxing world will have to wait a little while longer for the return of former unified welterweight champion Errol Spence Jr.

Spence has not laced up the gloves since being stopped by Terence Crawford two years ago for the undisputed 147lb title

Since that loss, it looked like Spence would be moving up in weight to face WBC and WBO light middleweight champion Sebastian Fundora.

March 29 looked like the date for this contest, but these plans have fallen apart with Fundora on the hunt for a new opponent.

Once the news about the Fundora fight falling apart became public, Spence offered an update on his career on X

"I'll be back when IM ready," Spence wrote.

A fight between Fundora and Spence would have been an exciting one with the former having his breakout moment in a gruelling battle with Tim Tszyu last year which he won by split decision to unify the WBC and WBO 154lb titles.
