Jorge Capetillo had his say.

Experienced cutman Jorge Capetillo says he has never seen Tyson Fury being knocked down in sparring.

Ahead of Fury’s huge undisputed clash with Oleksandr Usyk on February 17, reports have emerged alleging the WBC champion has been put on the canvas during sparring sessions.

There have also been counterclaims denying anything of the sort, and one of those to back up the defence of the Briton is from Capetillo.

He told Betway: "No, I have never seen Tyson Fury get knocked down in a sparring session. I think sometimes people can make up stories, make a big drama and not even know what happened. There are many things that can happen in a sparring session for sure. There are many champions that have been dropped from bad positioning, a trip or a push, that is part of the game and comes with the territory.

"However, Tyson has never been dropped in sparring when I have been with him in the gym. He is not only an incredible talent, but he is also very tough and has a huge heart and I believe these are rumours which just aren’t true. Tyson is a big guy who has so much pride in his performances and trust me when I say, nobody has ever knocked down Fury or even hurt him in sparring.

"Tyson still has a tremendous craft and is a tremendous talent and I think we are going to see a better version this time against Oleksandr Usyk. What happened with Francis, it surprised him with his size and frame.

"Tyson is more conscious to display a better performance against Oleksandr Usyk. I believe not only his boxing skills, but his height, reach, speed and ring IQ will see him become undisputed champion. This is the fight the world wants to see, and I spoke to Tyson recently and he told me how he was in great spirits and was excited to put on the best performance of his career."
