One fighter added another world title to his collection.

Gilberto Ramirez secured another world title after dominating Arsen Goulamirian to become WBA cruiserweight champion.

Ramirez was competing at his new weight class for the first time, and he proved he belonged at world level with an impressive performance that was reflected on the scorecards with three 118-110 verdicts.

Many within the boxing industry expected a close battle between the pair, but Ramirez, a former super-middleweight world champion, proved to be too good from the outset.

Ramirez built an early lead and he refused to let it slip as he became Mexico’s first ever cruiserweight world title holder.

Ramirez has previously spoken about making the jump to heavyweight and this win will give him the ideal platform to push on and aim even higher.

Will Ramirez make good on his promise and jump to boxing’s heavyweight division where even bigger tests lie ahead?
