The boxing legend was set to end his retirement for two fights this year prior to tragedy striking his family.

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was allegedly planning on having two fights this year. However, the back-to-back deaths of his ex-girlfriend and mother of his three children, Josie Harris, followed by the passing of his uncle and longtime trainer, Roger Mayweather, in addition to the ongoing coronavirus, have seemingly altered Mayweather's comeback for the time being.

On Thursday, TMZ Sports reported that the retired, undefeated boxer is "likely" calling off his 2020 fight plans after Harris and Roger Mayweather died in the span of a week. A source close to the boxing legend says Mayweather is reeling from their deaths, which were compounded between his distress over friend Kobe Bryant's passing and now with the COVID-19 global pandemic.

Last week, Mayweather posted several candid images of he and Harris and Harris and their children over the years as a tribute on his Instagram account. He followed with tributes to his uncle on Wednesday and Thursday.

Prior to this, UFC president Dana White and Mayweather struck a handshake deal in December while sitting courtside at an NBA game for Mayweather to return to fighting.

White even told ESPN: "Floyd and I both feel like we add value to each other and we're going to figure something out. Some things have to play out and then I'm going to start talking to [Al] Haymon maybe this summer and I'll have something for Floyd in the fall."

However, with all that has gone on in 2020, Mayweather clearly needs time to mourn.
