Floyd Mayweather Jr. had his way with Deji as expected en route to a sixth-round TKO on Sunday.
But even the self-proclaimed "The Best Ever" had to salute the YouTuber for landing a flush punch against him that gave the Hall of Famer a welt under his left eye.
"I'm glad that he landed a good shot," said a smiling Mayweather, with his arm draped around Deji's shoulder, seconds after pointing to the shiner during his post-fight interview in the ring.
"This," referring to the bruise, "is a part of fighting."
Deji took pride in giving Mayweather the "black eye."
The lighthearted moment came after Mayweather gave Deji and his brother KSI respect.
"Deji — you're a tough competitor, I'm proud of you. Keep up the great work," Mayweather said to the YouTuber. "Your brother, KSI, he's a hell of a fighter also. I want him to keep up the great work. Ya'll together, working as a team, working as a force, I'm proud of you guys."
