The scheduled February 20 exhibition between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Logan Paul looks to be on hold.
TMZ reports that Mayweather-Paul is officially postponed. The reason for it isn't taking place on Mayweather camp to TMZ was 'COVID and other things'. The source tells TMZ that Mayweather and Paul are trying to work on rescheduling the fight.
Back in December, Mayweather and Paul formally announced the pay-per-view contest via their social media accounts.
Mayweather retired from boxing after notching a 10th-round TKO over UFC star Conor McGregor in a blockbuster pay-per-view in August 2017 that generated over 4.4 million PPV buys. The 43-year-old went on to do a three-round exhibition bout against undefeated kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa at RIZIN 14 on December 31, 2018. Mayweather plowed through Nasukawa via a first-round TKO and reportedly earned $9 million for his efforts.
Paul, a social media personality, is 0-1 as a boxer, with his lone fight being a loss to fellow YouTube celebrity KSI in November 2019. If the fight occurs, Paul will have a significant size advantage as Mayweather is 5-9 and spent much of his career competing at 147 pounds; Paul stands 6-2 and weighed 199 pounds when he fought KSI last year.
Paul's brother, Jake, fought on the undercard of the Mike Tyson vs. Roy Jones Jr. exhibition on November 28 and scored a second-round knockout over former NBA Slam Dunk Contest champion Nate Robinson. He returns on April 17 to face former Bellator and UFC star Ben Askren.
