The former WBA light heavyweight champion wants his belt back.

Badou Jack is aiming to win back the WBA light heavyweight title when he faces Jean Pascal on June 6.

The 37-year-old two-division champion will face Pascal as part of the Floyd Mayweather vs. Logan Paul card, with Jack part of the Mayweather Promotions stable.

Many observers felt that Jack had done enough to keep his title when he fought in December 2019 but the decision went the other way, and the fighter is keen to set the record straight, focusing more on revenge than he is the WBA title.

Speaking to the DAZN Boxing Show , he said: “I feel great, I’m confident. I feel like I won the first fight. I’m going to finish what we started.

"It’s easier said than done but that's what I want. It’s happened too many times. I have a new trainer, Johnathon Banks, I feel great, I’m very confident and I can’t wait.

“I guess, to be honest I don’t really care about the title, I just want my win back. That's just a bonus.”

Asked about a next fight against the division’s other champions. Artur Beterbiev and Dmitry Bivol, Jack dismissed any other opponent apart from the one on the horizon.

“Right now all the focus is Pascal, I don’t look past him, nobody else. I don’t think about moving up a weight.”

Looking back to the defeat, the American suggested that he would be more ruthless to avoid the match going to decision again, and noted where he had been weak over the 12 rounds.

“Obviously start a little faster. I think the fourth round I started pretty good, I got hit with a big punch in the fourth round. Regardless I thought I won the third. I think that was a slap in my face, it woke me up,” he acknowledged.

“I’m a lot stronger and bigger. I can't wait. It’s not easy to make the weight, but I had my nutritionist here so I feel great and strong.”
