At just 20 years old and with 11 professional fights under his belt, Floyd Schofield will headline his first Golden Boy Fight Night on Thursday live on DAZN.

The New Jersey-born youngster feels that Thursday's fight against Mexico's Daniel Rosas will give him the chance to present himself as a serious contender in the lightweight division.

"This is a dream come true, I'm not looking past my fight with Daniel Rosas. I never imagined that at my age (20 years old) I could headline a billboard," Schofield told DAZN.

I don't feel pressure for this moment, but I would like to see how it will be. I know I trained hard and we did everything we had to do in this training camp to present ourselves in the best possible way. I have no pressure on my shoulders, I just want to go up there and show.

"We've prepared for everything. I personally feel I could knock out (Daniel Rosas) but I'm also ready to go all the rounds. Fighting Mexicans and Latinos has helped me gain a lot of experience, as the Latinos (which I have many on my record) have great heart and very tough.

"I don't feel pressured to have that zero on my record. It's not like Mayweather who gave the idea that you sucked if you had a loss, but in case you have a loss it's about coming back and proving.

"I don't understand how there are boxers who give up after losing the first time. I love boxing and I really enjoy it. I feel like I have an old school mentality."

A win for Schofield could result in the young American facing some of the toughest and biggest names, and it is a challenge that he relishes.

"My dad and I think Pitbull Cruz is the toughest at 135 pounds, for that reason no one wants to fight him, but in order to prove you're the best, you have to fight the best. And he is the best. I know I may not get that fight anytime soon, but sooner or later it will come," Schofield continued.

"I have the goal set, but realistically speaking, I think it will have to be at least another year or year and a half before I can contest a world title, but in 2023 I can be taken into account as a contender.

"I would fight the one who has the titles and that's Devin Haney. I know the titles will move, basically I would go with whoever has the titles, I'm ready, no matter how tough the opponents are. Haney did a great job, but I don't think Kambosos can get any titles back until Teofimo, Pitbull and everyone moves to 140."
