Floyd Schofield targets Keyshawn Davis or Marc Castro after Daniel Rosas knockoutDAZN

Floyd Schofield cleaned out Daniel Rosas in less than two minutes as he made his Golden Boy Promotions bow, and called for a clash with Keyshawn Davis or Marc Castro next.

The 20-year-old lightweight fighter dispatched his Mexican opponent with a left hook at the Fantasy Springs Casino, California, in a fight shown live on DAZN.

The American fighter was as patient as it is possible to be when fighting for just a few moments, and Rosas looked unsteady from the off, hitting the deck after an early slip. However Schofield met his rival with a flurry of blows that ended with a left, giving Rosas no chance to get back up on a second attempt.

Rosas was a stepping-stone opponent who now has a record of 22-6-1 (14 KOs), while Schofield moves onto a promising track record of 12-0 (10 KOs). The match was his fourth of the year meaning there is a chance he could squeeze in another bout but is now more likely to fight next in 2023.

“Hopefully I can get another fight before the end of the year and then get some of these guys they’re calling top prospects,” Schofield said after the fight.

“Marc Castro, Keyshawn Davis, all of them who they consider a top prospect. There can’t be twenty of us; only one can come out on top.”
