Former Amir Khan opponent calls out Conor Benn for future fight

Conor Benn is a man in demand.

Since beating Peter Dobson earlier this month, Conor Benn has been linked to fights with a number of American stars.

One of those is Gervonta Davis who has received an offer from Benn's team for a clash later this year.

Now former super lightweight and welterweight world champion Danny Garcia has thrown his hat into the ring to face Benn, but if Garcia was to face the British star next, he named the weight class which the contest would have to take place at.

"He was supposed to fight at 160lbs with [Chris] Eubank [Jr] right? I would love to fight him at 154lbs, I think that makes great sense," Garcia told YSM Sports Media.

“He wants to fight a big name, Garcia versus Benn, there ain’t no bigger fight than Danny Garcia so I would love that fight. If the price is right, like Bob Barker, I’ll go anywhere [to fight Benn, including the United Kingdom].”

“I watched it [Benn vs Dobson], I think that he did good, the guy that he fought was gritty though. The guy that he fought wasn’t no [pushover], he had skills that dude, but definitely [I would fight Benn], I feel like that is a great fight for me stylistically and that’s a fight that I would love. At 154lbs, not 147lbs.”

Garcia has enjoyed previous success against a British fighter and this came in 2012 when he knocked out Amir Khan for the WBA and WBC world super lightweight titles.
