Terence Crawford is one of the best fighters around.

Vergil Ortiz returned to action this past weekend as he scored a first round stoppage over Fredrick Lawson as he maintained his perfect record with another win.

The bout was Ortiz’s first in 17 months and the Texan reminded people of his qualities as he looks to land a world title shot at some point in 2024.

Operating at 147lbs for the bulk of his career, Ortiz moved to super-welterweight for the Lawson contest, and he has no issue remaining there if a huge fight can be secured.

Lucrative fights are also available at welterweight and with Terence Crawford sitting on top of the rankings there, Robert Garcia, the trainer of Ortiz, believes his man is too strong for the Nebraska fighter.

“I think Vergil is too strong for Terence Crawford,” said Garcia when speaking to Boxing Social

“People can give me a hard time for what I’m saying, but Vergil is too strong.”
