Tyson Fury’s recent performance against Francis Ngannou has drawn plenty of criticism from the boxing world.
Fury climbed off the canvas in round three before being pushed hard all the way by the former UFC superstar who was making his professional debut after a successful career competing in MMA.
Fury managed to escape from the fight with a close split decision verdict, but the victory didn’t prevent the current WBC champion from facing severe scrutiny regarding his career.
Hasim Rahman, a former two-time world champion, is the latest to have his say on Fury’s lacklustre outing against Ngannou.
“I feel like it was a bad look and I think that Tyson took himself out of the greatest heavyweights of all time conversation,” said Rahman when speaking to FightHype.
“You cannot let a novice come into boxing with zero fights, put you on the ground and have an argument about who won the fight.
“Tyson did a disservice to the belt, to the heavyweights. And I like him, he was arguably one of the best to ever do it. But he took a big hit with Ngannou. It was a sad day for boxing”
